Hell Is Earth, Heaven Is Death

Divide And Rule, Igbo vs. Yoruba: Obi vs. Tinubu = Hausa/Fulani Strategy For The 2023 Presidential Election

Divide and rule is “a way of keeping yourself in a position of power by causing disagreements among other people so that they are unable to oppose you.” – Cambridge dictionary.

Britain perfected the act of divide and rule during slavery and colonialism.

They sowed discord among families who would later sell their perceived enemies into slavery.

They imposed Christianity on Africans by creating disharmony among traditional worshipers.

For instance, consider this quote from Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, “the white man came quietly and peaceably with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.” This is what divide and rule can achieve.

Furthermore, during the Nigeria’s struggle for independence from Britain, northern Nigeria rejected independence as directed by Britain. Britain took this position knowing that any motion for independence without the vote of northern Nigeria would fail in parliament. Britain used divide and rule to delay Nigeria’s quest for independence.

Nevertheless, when Nigeria eventually got its independence, and since the people of northern Nigeria were subservient to Britain, they bequeathed divide and rule to the Hausa/Fulani people. From the bogus census they conducted, which inflated the population of the North, to the rigged elections orchestrated by Britain.

Since Nigeria’s independence, the Hausa/Fulani elites have been able to maintain the undue advantage handed over to them by Britain. They have also continually used divide and rule to maintain power in the North.

The divide and rule policy of the North ensures a division between Ndigbo and its neighbours of former eastern region. Even the Igbo of the Niger delta were brainwashed to believe that they are not Ndigbo. That is why Governor Wike, and his likes continue to deny their Igbo heritage. They told them that Ndigbo are their problems, meanwhile, all the oil wells in the Niger delta belong to the Fulani.

Divide and rule is a socio-political tool at the disposal of the Hausa/Fulani to ensure that there will never be peace between Igbo and Yoruba peoples. This plan is very imperative to them because they know that Nigeria will seize to exist any day Igbo and Yoruba peoples started speaking with one voice (in agreement).

And that was why neither Azikiwe nor Awolowo was an executive president of Nigeria during their time. While the North was busy consolidating power, Zik and Awo were busy fighting each other with their micro political parties (NPP vs. UPN).

Déjà vu, as the 2023 presidential election is approaching, clearly, Azikiwe vs Awolowo scenario is rejuvenated. But instead of the dead Zik vs dead Awo, we now have Obi (Obi-dients) vs. Tinubu (BATs) – Igbo vs. Yoruba. It is equally strange that across all the social media, the political insult is between Obi-dients and BATs. Nobody mentions Atiku. It’s like the presidential election is just between Obi and Tinubu.

The successful political rallies of the Obi-dients across southern states of Nigeria on 01/10/2022 show that Obi’s candidature would be more harmful to the emergence of Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria. Obi vs Tinubu would decimate southern votes, especially in Lagos, which would benefit Atiku Abubakar.

Now consider the total polling units across the geopolitical zones:
North-west is 41,671 x 500 votes per unit = 20,835,500 votes
North-east is 24,006 x 500 votes per unit = 12.003,000
North-central is 27,514 x 500 votes per unit = 13,757,000
Total northern votes = 46,595,500

South-east is 21,631 x 500 votes per unit = 10,815,500 votes
South-south is 27,126 x 500 = 13,563,000
South-west is 34,898 x 500 = 17,449,000
Total southern votes = 41,827,500

In the end Obi will likely win Igbo votes, including the votes of Ndigbo residing in every part of Nigeria, and most especially Igbo votes in Lagos, which may stunt the overall performance of Tinubu in the south-west. That’s what divide and rule is all about. Tinubu will definitely win Yoruba votes.

Based on the above figures, Atiku only needs to divide southern votes while seeking just 25% of votes spread in southern states. Someone tried to remind me that there’s also Kwankwaso who is a presidential candidate from the north. And that he’s there to divide Atiku’s northern votes.

My response was, case study, Wike vs Tambuwal. When the chips are down, northern interests supersede all personal interests. He said Peter is also looking for 25% votes cast in the north. And I said, first of all, you should have over 20 million votes at your disposal before seeking 25% votes spread.

In fact, my instinct tells me that Kwankwaso is only interested in installing his own person as the governor of Kano state. He’s in the presidential race for negotiations. Kwankwaso is a PDP man, and Atiku’s associate, just like Peter Obi. Kwankwaso and Peter Obi seem to be the Forerunners Of Atiku Abubakar.

Eventually, after negotiations, NNPP/Kwankwaso will win Kano state gubernatorial election. Already, there’s confusion as to the authentic PDP’s candidate in Kano state. Perhaps, this a coincidence, or is it part of the deal? The future holds the truth. In the end, Peter Obi would be compensated with a ministerial appointment. Obi-dients please don’t insult me, just mark my word.

There’s one thing you should know about Islam. In Islam, it is haram (sin) to allow a non-believer (infidel) to rule over you. And that’s why the Almajiris, directed by the Imams in their Mosques, will always cast their votes for a ‘true’ Muslim. And that’s why Atiku can confidently call Wike’s bluff. Nigeria is still divided along ethnic lines otherwise why would a Yoruba person contemplate on voting for a terrible sick and old man like Bola Tinubu.

Finally, the day Ndigbo and Yoruba peoples, including the entire southern Nigeria, agree to speak with one voice, the ideology of the Muslim north that they will not be ruled by an infidel will end. Otherwise, Nigeria will seize to exit. Until then, the north will continue to rule over the south.
